Dear ODU PHYS 226/231/261 students,
Welcome to University Physics! I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and working with you throughout the semester to learn about mechanics, conservation of energy and momentum, equations of motion, rotational dynamics, and (if we make good progress) thermodynamics. I promise to do my best to make the course both interesting and educational.
I do not use Blackboard, but there is a class web page at http://www.toddsatogata.net/2016-ODU . A copy of the class syllabus has been uploaded to both locations -- it includes information about grading, office hours, textbook, Mastering Physics, and other invaluable information. TA information will be updated on the syllabus when I have it. Please review it before the first class session. In particular note that there is no required class text, though I recommend "University Physics with Modern Physics" by Young and Freedman (14th ed) since it is a required text for PHYS 232 etc. Also please note that clickers are not required.
